The RNAS-C exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions and must be completed in 4 hours including one 15-minute break.
The RNAS-C exam was developed by subject matter experts including RNs, RNFAs and RNFA educators. Test questions are regularly reviewed and updated by subject matter experts to maintain accuracy and currency. NASC has been administering the RNAS-C exam since 2009.

follow us on Instagram.NASC is currently offering the RNAS-C exam as a proctored paper exam. Proctored exams may be taken at learning centers (such as the Sylvan Learning Center) or onsite at your facility with an administrator or senior level team member serving as your proctor. It is the applicant’s responsibility to arrange a proctor for the exam. Both the applicant and the proctor will review and sign the NASC Proctoring Guidelines before the exam is administered.
After you complete your exam, the proctor or testing site will return the exam to NASC for grading. You will be notified of your test results by NASC within 14 days of taking your exam.
The fee to take the exam for RNAS-C certification is $425.
It is your responsibility to contact NASC and your exam proctor if you must reschedule your exam.
You must test within 4 months of submitting your application. If you do not complete your exam within 4 months, your entire testing fee is forfeited.
If you do not pass the exam upon your first attempt, you must retake the exam within 90 days of the original test date, yet no sooner than 45 days. Candidates cannot test more than three times within a 12-month period. The retake fee is $325.
